Getting Started

I'm in the funeral business. For some time now, I have been thinking about starting a blog that would let some light shine onto all the end of life issues that we all think about but are fearful of talking about in polite society. Some of my postings will be practical ...Since sooner or later we all will either be the center of attention at a funeral/memorial service or compelled by necessity to arrange something appropriate for a friend or loved one. Going to the funeral home can be compared to going to the dentist in 1870, when a shot of whisky and a hand drill was " state of the art technology". The dentist was approached with dread. The funeral director is approached with fear about cost and a strong desire not to think about death. Some of my postings will be a bit more philosophical. What exactly is life? What's next?
